Renae Clutton

Practice Manager

As the Practice Manager at KDK Family Law, Renae brings a wealth of experience in legal administration, operations and financial management with a career spanning over 30 years in the Perth legal sector. Working for both boutique and multidisciplinary practices has allowed her to develop a diverse skillset. 

In addition to her time in the Perth legal sector, she worked with a corporate advisory practice during the ‘mining boom in Perth’ from 2004 to 2010.   She enjoyed assisting in the formation of various mining and exploration entities, working on seed/capital raisings, shareholder and stakeholder development, tenement compliance, field team co-ordination (including Africa) ASX compliance, websites and IT and the establishment of many office spaces to run these entities.

Renae’s role at KDK Family Law encompasses all facets of the business ranging from administration, operations, client services, finance management, compliance, IT and general management. Renae ensures our office runs as seamlessly as possible to allow our directors and legal professionals time to focus on delivering great service to our clients.

Renae is a member of ALPMA.

Shehaam Moses

Paralegal

Over the course of 14 years, Shehaam has accumulated a wealth of experience in the field of family law, embarking on a dynamic journey that has encompassed various roles, from paralegal responsibilities to practice management positions. This extensive tenure in the legal domain has equipped her with a deep and nuanced understanding of the intricacies of family law.

Of particular significance in Shehaam’s career is her unwavering dedication to parenting and care and protection matters. She has devoted significant time and energy to these critical aspects of family law, actively collaborating with Independent Children’s Lawyers. Her involvement extends to representing children in various legal settings, including the Family Court, Children’s Court, and State Administrative Tribunal. Through these roles, Shehaam has emerged as a compassionate advocate for the well-being of children, making her a trusted presence in the legal community.

Ronelle Hanbury

Paralegal

With a career spanning over 15 years in the legal profession, Ronelle has accumulated a wealth of experience, with a special focus on family law since 2012. Her extensive tenure in the field is a testament to her dedication and expertise.

Within the firm, Ronelle plays a pivotal role, primarily providing support to Mr. Ben King and Mr. Benjamin Sweetman, two prominent figures in the legal arena. Her contributions extend beyond her immediate responsibilities as she actively supports other lawyers within the firm. Furthermore, Ronelle takes on the important task of assisting in the training and development of other staff members, sharing her knowledge and helping nurture the next generation of legal professionals.

Outside the confines of the legal world, Ronelle finds solace and joy in a well-balanced life. Her daily walks along the picturesque Swan River offer moments of tranquility and reflection. Beyond her career, Ronelle embraces the role of a loving grandmother, cherishing her precious baby granddaughter. She also finds joy in caring for her furry, four-legged grandson, Willow the cat, emphasizing her nurturing spirit.

Ronelle’s interests extend to the sporting world as well, as she enjoys playing social golf with a close-knit group of friends whenever the opportunity arises. Ellie Towler

Paralegal

Ellie’s journey in the field of Family Law commenced in 2021 when she embarked on a career that would eventually lead her to our firm in early 2022. Since joining our team, Ellie has been an invaluable asset, playing a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our firm.

Ellie works in close collaboration with Ronelle Hanbury, seamlessly coordinating and assisting in various tasks for Mr. Ben King and Mr. Benjamin Sweetman, two prominent figures within our practice. Her contributions are particularly instrumental in keeping the wheels of our family legal machinery turning smoothly.

One of Ellie’s primary responsibilities is managing and maintaining discovery lists for our clients. This meticulous task requires a keen eye for detail and a systematic approach, qualities that Ellie possesses in abundance. Her dedication to this aspect of her role ensures that our clients’ cases are handled with precision and accuracy.

In addition to her role with discovery lists, Ellie is also a key contributor to the updating, maintenance, and distribution of electronic briefs for client files. Her efforts in this regard ensure that our legal professionals have access to the information they need to serve our clients effectively.

Ruby Baumgartner

Ruby’s educational journey led her to attain a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Law and Society from the prestigious University of Western Australia. Armed with her academic foundation, Ruby embarked on her professional career, joining the KDK team in February 2023.

As a new member of our team, Ruby has eagerly embraced her role as a Paralegal, demonstrating her commitment to learning and growing within the field of law. Her passion and enthusiasm for family law are evident in her daily work, as she actively supports the solicitors in their efforts to secure positive outcomes for our valued clients. Outside of the office, Ruby’s heart belongs to her four-legged companion, a Golden Retriever puppy affectionately named Doug. Madison Kanther

Receptionist

Madison has been a vital part of our firm since joining in June, serving in an essential administrative capacity. In her role, she takes on a multifaceted set of responsibilities that are integral to the smooth functioning of the firm’s family law services.

One of Madison’s key duties involves acting as a crucial liaison between the firm and its clients. She takes on this pivotal role by maintaining open lines of communication, ensuring that clients receive the information and assistance they require promptly and efficiently. Her friendly and approachable demeanor serves as a warm and welcoming first impression for anyone who visits our office.

Louie Sweetman

Louie holds a cherished place in our office as our beloved and loyal canine companion. His role in the team goes far beyond the conventional, adding a unique and heartwarming dimension to our workspace.

Louie is a master at providing emotional support, and his presence alone has a calming and uplifting effect on our team. Whether it’s offering a friendly nudge during a stressful moment or simply brightening up the office with his infectious enthusiasm, Louie excels in emotional support regulation.

In addition to his emotional support duties, Louie also takes on the important responsibility of managing our rubbish bins. With his keen nose and vigilant eye, he ensures that our office remains tidy and clutter-free, making him a true “waste management” aficionado.

For those who share a love for dogs, Louie is more than just a furry colleague; he’s a source of comfort and companionship. He graciously offers complimentary emotional support consultations, providing a warm and furry shoulder to lean on when needed.

Outside of his office duties, Louie lives a dog’s dream life. He revels in exhilarating runs on the beach, enjoys leisurely snoozes on his back, relishes the thrill of chasing birds, and indulges in delicious cold meats on his well-deserved RDOs (Rest Days Off). At the office, Louie’s favorite pastime is receiving pats and affection from our staff, who appreciate his unwavering loyalty and joyful spirit. Louie is not just our office dog; he’s an integral part of our team, bringing happiness, comfort, and a touch of canine charm to our workplace.

Our office is located at 220 Stirling Highway in Claremont (halfway between Bay Road and Goldsworthy Road).

Our lawyers regularly appear in the Family Court of WA, the Magistrates Court for Restraining Order Cases, and the Perth Children’s Court for Care and Protection Cases. 

Our lawyers are also members of the Law Society of WA, The Family Law Practitioners Association of WA (FLPAWA), and the Family Law Section of the Family Council of Australia.
